I guess it's true what they say about gourds, "if your introduced to the world of gourds, you'll be hooked on them forever."  My niece introduced me to gourds some time back, and I've been obsessed ever since.  I don't understand the attraction for them, but I have given up all other art forms that I have accomplished for over 45 years, to painting nothing but these, sometimes, funny looking things.  I just fell in love with the art of making something wonderful from gourds. 
I saw the website of "Painting on Jars", Cindy Trombley Designs.  Well, I was really hooked after that.  She had the most wonderful patterns, patterns I wanted to paint, which says alot about her patterns, I've always had my own style in painting canvas or charcoal.  I bought all the ones I wanted to paint, and I have not stopped painting these "gourds" since.

I have my own studio in my house (where I store all my toys) and it is filled with gourds of all sizes, waiting to be painted!  I painted only custom orders for the longest time, I just started working art and craft shows.  I really enjoy working the shows, you get to meet all kinds of people with different talents.
